The East Surrey District Scout Fellowship is a support group that assists the various sections in the District and is made up of men and women of all ages from eighteen upwards with a variety of interests, skills and backgrounds who wish to be involved in scouting but do not have the time to commit to running a group or section on a regular basis. Members are given the opportunity to assist at various District events but there are no specific requirements – some of our members may only assist with one event a year. We hold approximately four meetings a year to discuss activities but these are usually fairly informal and again there is no requirement to attend these meetings as you can be kept informed of events via our District mailing or by email. We also have an active social and activity programme which includes events held with other leaders in the District and other Fellowship groups.

There is no need to have been a scout or guide to be a member of the fellowship nor to have any specific skills – everyone has something to offer whether it be assisting with catering, administration, training, management, maintenance of buildings or equipment or any of a range of indoor and outdoor crafts and adventurous activities.

If you are interested in becoming an assistant or instructor for any specific activity, the Scout Movement offers a complete range of training courses or can facilitate you to obtain more specialist training from an appropriate organisation. On the other hand, adults are always needed at events to help with car parking etc and there is no requirement for you to wear a uniform. Membership of the Fellowship means that you have insurance cover whilst on scouting activities.
